Meet Mary Conway Kolka
Founder & Educator
After more than a decade in elementary education, I founded DOXENedu to bring the best parts of teaching into a more personalized setting, where instruction can truly be shaped around one child at a time.
Throughout my career as a New York City educator, I’ve had the privilege of teaching and supporting children across the elementary grades. My work has extended beyond the classroom, including serving as Head of the Science Department, developing curriculum, leading professional development for fellow educators, and partnering closely with families. I am also a published children’s book author. Each of these experiences has shaped the way I teach and strengthened my ability to understand and support each child as an individual learner.
I am a state-certified teacher in both New York and Florida and hold a Master’s Degree in Literacy. I also have specialized training in evidence-based literacy programs, giving me a strong foundation for supporting developing readers and writers.
Through DOXENedu, my goal is to give each child something that’s difficult to achieve in a classroom of many students: instruction designed specifically for them.
